Buncefield Burns On...

Smoke from the burning fuel depot spreads over London....

...southward along the M1, Britain's main artery....

..and out over the toney and agreeable comuter-belt towns of Hertfordshire. Hey! I can see dad's house from here! And mum's apartment building- no truth to the rumour that all that smoke is mum and Mark having a ciggie on the balcony.

I guess this is not one of the "on a clear day you can see...." days on the Eye? Given how long you have to queue to get on you'd not be happy.

No, but it does look very Edwardian, HG Wells-ian, end-of-the-worldy though.
They probably should have gone up the Beacon in the fog; same experience, no queues.

The M1 is one of the main arteries.
There is also the M4 (London to the South West), the M5 (South West to North West) and others i'm sure. It's not just Watford and Hemel you know, there are other places out there too, like Shepton Mallett.

The M1/A1M and the M25 junctions that feed it are the busiest roads in Britain, according to this Dept. of Transport survey, carrying more freight and passenger traffic than any other road in Britain by a clear margin of serveral thousand vehicles a day. Hence, main atery.

Although the M4 is a nice road, to be sure.

...does that liitle explosion mean that fuel will become EVEN MORE expensive over there in the UweKay?

Or is it an expensive way for the mother country to grab some publicity and for the people to take some speccy pictures?

"Or is it an expensive way...to grab some publicity"- you mean like your silly race riots?

Yes thats it M!key, bang on, great insightful analysis, etc.

Geee, getting headlines must be a big business these days...

What is the profession called though: was it 'terrorist' or 'incompetant'?

M!key, have you been at the vicodin after your accident mate? That last comment makes about as much sense as Pauline Hanson. I'd join in the jolly banter if I could figure out what you were going on about :)
