Might Have Passed the Fail/Safe...

I gave up smoking when the daughter arrived. So far so good; any irritability is masked by general new baby fatigue. I was also at home for two weeks, so my normal patterns of behaviour were broken. Not counting any chickens yet, but fairly confident they will hatch. And by writing this I have added a public layer of potential shame should I fall of the wagon. Something to do with game theory, I'm told.

That is all.

More life to live and giv ewith your wife and daughter.
I'm proud of you for the mere fact that you are making an effort:)I grew up with heavy smokers so I kinda know how hard it can get to try to get off of cigs.

Excellent work Sir.
It's quite simply the best thing you can do for yourself, Scout, Country Mouse and the civilised world

Damn it Mondale- because you think it is a good course of action I'm going to have to do the opposite and start smoking again. Shit. :)

By the way- since the baby arrived I've read the last three Economists, the New Yorker fiction edition, a Vanity Fair, A Corner of a Foreign Field (a history of Indian cricket), and I'mn eagerly anticipating my birthday books. I guess every baby is different....

Well done, you--and best of luck.

I wonder if producing a sprog or sprogette would induce my husband to read down that towering stack of accumulated Economists?

I enjoyed the New Yorker fiction edition, this month's VF was interesting--mostly. Wonder how Bono felt about including that excerpt from Tina Brown's Princess Di book?
