"Underneath ze lantern,

Darlink I remember
The vay you used to vait
Vas there that you vhispered tenderly,
Zat you loffed me,
You'd alvays be,
Mein Lilli of the Lamplight,
Mein own Lilli Marlene!"

Could be worse. He could be singing this.

Can you just leave the Germans alone for five minutes?

What do you mean? He's just having a little sing-song. I think it's cute, to see the wee antichrist at his wee piano. I miss the days when you left comments like this:

"I agree with absolutely everything you just said. I know a German and the last time we spoke we spent approximately half the conversation mocking each other"

Ooh, that's a double-fister. First you have a go at the land of meine Grosspapas then you go and start popping at the Pope. I didn't realy notice that earlier. Your two pet peeves, Germans and Catholics.

Who did you think it was at the piano: Franz Beckenbauer?

I'm not peeved at Germans or catholics but I do like taking the piss out of world leaders. I suppose I have a problem with dogmatic authority of any stripe.

I blame Alexi Sayle and his bit about the church of the boisterously skeptical:
"PRIEST: 'I believe in God the Father Almighty'
CONGREGATION (chant): 'Wanker wanker wanker.'"

Sayle's Great Bus Journeys of the World: possibly the funniest book I have ever read. I highly suggest somebody buy it.
