Two for Two

Amazing. The Boston Red Sox took on the New York Yankees for the second time in a week and caned them again. Not even April-Rod could save the Bronx Bastards, who went through more pitchers than oil rig workers on furlough.

I am in the second year of a bet (see posts passim) with Bill Norris which allows the supporter of the victorious team to inflict humiliation on the loser. Last week I asked Bill to review some of Boston's most awful music scenes (due this Wednesday) so this week I'm going to simply ask him to change his profile image to the picture below. I think this young man is the perfect embodiment of the Yankees' work ethic and talent levels:

Thank you. I'm holding fire lest I get pasted by you if the Yankees ever win again.

Not sure why I bothered looking this up, but I was reminded of a fine quip written by Bill Simmons back before he started recycling his ideas more than 3 times each:

"Here’s your typical Yankees fan: His name is Vinny, Bobby, or Paulie; he’s 5-foot-8; he has black hair and a black mustache that hasn’t quite grown in yet, which makes him look like a cross between Danny Terrio and Bababooey; his girlfriend looks like Paula Jones and chews Jolly Ranchers with her mouth open; he just failed the firefighter test in his borough for the 10th time; he owns three different Yankees jerseys and makes his girlfriend wear one of them at all times; he wears sweatpants to bars; he drops f-bombs like it’s his job; his greatest moment of the past 25 years was when Reggie Jackson slapped three homers in the ‘77 World Series; and he thinks Don Mattingly should have his own holiday. He’s also getting really angry as he reads this."

I'm just sayin' ...
