Street Life

From the BBC: Psycho Path 'craziest' road in US
"...Divorce Court (off Easy Lane) in Pennsylvania and Farfrompoopen Road in Tennessee were runners-up in the Wild, Weird and Wacky Street Names contest....

Its worth keeping an eye on the comments section at the bottom of the story to see if anyone is able to sneak London's "Gropec*nt Lane" past the BBC's blue pencils. I know it's not called that anymore but it was a rather neat if guttural Anglo-Saxon description for the medieval red light district.

OLD GEEZER ALERT: Grumble, grumble, these days it would be called "Consensual Decriminalised Sexual Transactions Plaza" or something, grumble, grumble.

After 10 years in NYC, I still always chuckle when I'm on the subway line that stops at Rectum— I mean Rector— Street.

AP's Los Angeles office made the error of placing Farfrompoopen Road in Tennessee rather than in Arkansas in reporting the story. Now if you Google Farfrompoopen Road, there about about 80,000 entries. I did not look at all of them, but a lot of them that I saw perpetuated the error.

If you look at Mitsubishi's Web site, you will see that Farfrompoopen Road, which came in third, is in Story, Ark. On second thought, it's too bad it did not come in No. 2.

Psycho... speaking of 'street life,' he's certainly (worth) a trip down Memory Lane.
